ASSESSMENTS

Assessments at Amolak Public School

At Amolak Public School, our assessment system is designed to foster continuous learning, conceptual clarity, and skill development, in alignment with NEP 2020, NCF 2023, and CBSE guidelines. We follow a balanced approach, integrating both Formative and Summative Assessments to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of each student’s progress.

Kindergarten (Nursery & KG)

Assessment in Kindergarten is activity-based and conducted through various classroom engagements and interactive evaluations. Instead of formal exams, we focus on observational assessments, creative tasks, and hands-on learning experiences to nurture foundational skills.

Grades 1 & 2

  • The academic session is divided into two terms.
  • Each term includes two Formative Assessments (FAs) that evaluate students through written work, oral tests, projects, and activities.
  • At the end of the session, all formative assessments are considered with equal weightage to ensure holistic development.

Grades 3 to 8

  • The session is divided into two terms:
    • Each term includes one Formative Assessment (FA) and one Summative Assessment (SA).
  • Final evaluation is based on:
    • 50% weightage from Term 1
    • 50% weightage from Term 2
  • This system ensures that students are assessed on their understanding, application, and analytical skills rather than rote memorization.

Grades 9 to 12

  • Assessments are conducted strictly as per the CBSE pattern.
  • Regular periodic tests, pre-board exams, and practical evaluations prepare students for board examinations while encouraging conceptual clarity and competency-based learning.

Internal Grades and Holistic Evaluation

In addition to academic assessments, we recognize and grade students based on their performance in various physical, artistic, and extracurricular activities. This includes:

  • Physical Education: Participation in sports and physical fitness activities
  • Fine and Performing Arts: Engagement in visual arts, music, dance, and drama
  • Curricular and Co-curricular Involvement: Active participation in clubs, debates, quizzes, and other activities
  • Annual Functions and Events: Contribution to school-wide events, performances, and productions
  • These internal grades ensure a well-rounded evaluation of each student, recognizing their overall development beyond the academic sphere. They play a crucial role in shaping a student’s character, creativity, and leadership abilities.

At Amolak Public School, our student-centric assessment approach aims to:
    ✔ Track individual progress continuously
✔ Encourage experiential and inquiry-based learning
✔ Recognize holistic development through curricular and co-curricular involvement
✔ Prepare students for higher education and future challenges

Through our well-structured assessment framework, we ensure that every child grows academically while developing the skills and confidence needed to thrive in the real world.
